As states in the United States seem to be slowly opening back up, it’s important to remember that chances are COVID-19 is here to stay for the near future. While we cannot wait to not have to stay at home all the time, it is important to continue these prevention measures from the CDC to prevent further breakouts:
- Wash your hands frequently-preferably for 20 seconds at least!
- Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth
- Stay home when you are sick
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then throw that tissue in the trash
- Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects
- Avoid sharing personal items
- Limit close contact with others as much as possible-maintain a minimum of 6 feet at all times
- Consider staying home and away from crowds and public places as much as possible
- Limit social interaction with others outside of home unless keeping 6 feet distance and wearing a mask/face covering
- Ensure you have access to several weeks of medications and supplies in case you need to stay home
- Stay informed about the local outbreak situation
- Take care of the emotional health of your household, including yourself
