Live-in Caregivers
Live-in caregivers are usually best for those who need constant care during the day and at night. This type of care includes two caregivers who take turns living in the home for 3-4 days and alternate. One of the caregivers is always in the home to help your loved one with personal care and any additional help they may need in the morning, in the afternoon, or at night.
If you decide to work with Assisting Hands Home Care for your live-in care needs, we will send a staff member so they can meet you and your loved one and assess what type of care they need. We will also set-up a care plan to make sure all their needs are met and there is someone always in the home. The live-in caregivers we hire help with personal care, medication reminders, meal prep, and light housekeeping.
Our live-in caregiver helps your loved one in the morning with their routine as well as with bathing and dressing. They are also always awake and present throughout the day to help with any additional needs such as light housekeeping and preparing meals. Our caregivers will be there at night to help your loved ones with their nighttime routing and ensure they get to bed.
Our clients seek live-in care as they may have returned from the hospital or lost a spouse and are now living alone and need help. Our trained staff will treat them with dignity and great care.
Getting Ready for Live-in Care
You will need to secure a private space for the caregiver to sleep and keep their items. When their 3-4-day shift is over, the caregiver will clean up and prepare the space for the next caregiver.
24-Hour Caregivers
24-hour home care is different from live-in services in that a caregiver is always available, awake, and ready to respond to any emergencies. Your loved one will have a caregiver with them 24/7 and they will alternate with another caregiver every 8-12 hours. The caregiver will be awake their whole shift so they can help if needed and they do not need a space in your loved one’s home to sleep at night.

You can choose to have the caregiver stay in the room with your loved one through the night or in a nearby area. They will be awake all night to provide assistance when needed. In the morning, the caregiver will help them get out of bed and ready for the day. Our overnight care services are ideal for seniors who need someone awake and present at night to provide assistance and respond to emergencies.
