This month’s caregiver of the Month is Joanna Lazarz. Joanna is a highly requested caregiver. Her clients cannot say enough about her. In the last couple of Month’s Joanna has stepped up to assist our team and her clients with urgent matters. We cannot thank her enough for going above and beyond.
About Joanna
Joanna started as a CNA about 11 years ago. She started off in the nursing home setting. She has been in the home health field for about 2 years. She became a caregiver originally because she loves helping people. She at one point wanted to be a police officer and serve and protect our communities, but caregiving stole her heart.
Joanna loves being a caregiver because it is so rewarding. She loves waking up everyday and seeing the smiles on her clients faces, knowing she makes them laugh. She loves to listen to their life stories. She states “Knowing that an individual can be somewhat sick but still have their independence is very important. Seeing each one of my client’s progresses gives me hope and a happiness no one can describe.”
Outside of work Joanna likes to travel. She will take any opportunity she can get to see new things, taste new foods, and learn new culture and traditions. She loves to hike and be one with nature. She enjoys meditation and silence while she takes in the nature views. Lastly, Joanna loves to go swimming. It helps her stay strong to be able to do the work she loves to do.
Joanna’s goal for the future is to continue to make people happy. She would like to continue to educate herself on understanding the human body and diseases that can come. Joanna has a goal to join a caregiver association so she can be an advocate for seniors and their families and promote the caregiving profession. We are so lucky to have such a strong, encouraging caregiver on our team. Congratulations, Joanna!
